Enough Already

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown is a good book, but c'mon, it's not that good.

Now there's a diet based on the Da Vinci Code: Portland baker writes diet book based on Da Vinci Code formula.

Not to be confused with the Da Vinci Fitness Code.

Credit Card Bible

This company is selling a Bible with the entire text imprinted on a card the size of a typical credit card. Useful if you're trying to share the Gospel with those heathen E. Coli.

A Warning to All of You...Um...Nevermind...

I generally consider myself pro-life in the great pro-life/pro-choice debate. My arguments aren't 100% concrete, but overall I believe human life begins shortly after conception. Anyhoo, my head was shaking in disbelief when I read that the Columbia Christians for Life organization, a pro-life Christian group, said that the satellite images of Hurricane Katrina looked like an unborn fetus. They argue that New Orleans was being punished because it has 10 abortion clinics in the city. Okkaaayyy....

So now a new hurricane is about to hit the gulf region AGAIN. I eagerly wait for what the Columbia Christians for Life will say about the satellite image of Hurricane Rita:

Mid-Autumn Festival and the Mooncakes

This past Sunday was the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrated by Chinese, and I would imagine most Asians celebrate something similar to it. Mooncakes, as pictured above, are typically eaten during this time. Honestly, I think that mooncakes taste horrible. That weird egg yolk thing stuck in the middle is downright disgusting. I would never say this in public because, well, the wife likes them.

According to legend, the cakes symbolize the overthrow of the Mongols at the end of the Yuan dynasty in the 14th century when secret notes baked into them helped spark an uprising. I guess the Mongols didn't like the taste either, otherwise they would have bitten into them found the notes, right?

Dawg Nooz

Good news for Violet (the one that beat-up Ziggy). We just delivered her to her permanent home yesterday. Her new owner lives in a very swank home in the hills above Griffith Park. Interestingly, he is a writer for network shows, most recently as a writer for One Tree Hill. He also mentioned he started as a writer for the Wonder Years. Very cool. Violet is now known as Blanche, because, according to her new owner, she "has always depended on the kindness of strangers." It's a reference to the famous play "A Streetcar Named Desire". How sweet!

Can't think of a title right now.

I've been out for a week on a business trip to Green Bay, WI.
Now I'm frazzled since work and schoolwork has piled up while I was gone.

Hopefully things will calm down as the week progresses.
